East of Scotland: Afternoon stroll for Civil Service

Civil Service Strollers climbed up the Central Taxis Premier Division table with a 3-1 victory against Preston Athletic with goals from Craig Dickson, Gary Calvey and James Robertson while Mark Pagliarulo netted a consolation for Preston.

Stirling University kept the pressure on the leading pack after beating Lothian Thistle 3-2 away from home with strikes from Emmot Parr-Gallagher(2) and Creag Robertson. Craig Hume notched a double for Lothian. In the Image Printers East of Scotland Qualifying Cup, Gretna 2008 defeated Leith Athletic 2-1 with an own goal and a shot from Tony Nicholson.

Spartans had Robbie Manson and David Etale to thank for their 2-1 win against Vale of Leithen and Edinburgh University beat Craigroyston 2-0 with goals from Mike Gray and Danny Main. Tynecastle overcame Edinburgh City 3-0 with Steve McCormack, John Williams and Darren Aird on the scoresheet.

There were also wins for Selkirk, Heriot-Watt University and Whitehill Welfare.

In the first division, Gala Fairydean and Berwick Rangers reserves both recorded victories.
