FA wants homegrown coach after Capello

Sir Trevor Brooking has revealed the Football Association is hoping the next England manager will be homegrown.

Italian Fabio Capello remains in charge of the national side despite a disappointing showing at the recent World Cup in South Africa, but Brooking admits there is a feeling in the governing body that the figurehead of the England side should be English.

"I think longer term, after Fabio, we'd like to go English," the FA's director of football development told Radio 5 live.
