Joey Barton may miss the BetFred quarter-final if Rangers get there - because he's promoting his autobiography.

The Rangers midfielder is currently booked into an event - entitled An Evening With Joey Barton - in London on Wednesday 21 September to promote ‘No Nonsense’.

The BetFred Cup quarter-finals are scheduled for the Tuesday and Wednesday of that week, which Rangers are expected to advance to having been drawn at home to Peterhead.

With tickets available at £20 a pop, cancelling would be an issue for Barton. If Rangers want to play the day before they would need to get their opponents to agree to the switch, or trust their luck and hope the match is originally scheduled for the Tuesday so they won’t be without their star summer signing.
