Neil Alexander set to leave Rangers

Neil Alexander has said he is likely to leave Rangers as he revealed he has reached an impasse with the club over negotiations. Alexander, who is out of contract this summer, has knocked back two offers to extend his contract, and cites the uncertainty over which league Rangers will play in as a factor in the deadlocked talks.

“Negotiations have been going slowly. The club has made it clear they want me to stay,” Alexander said. He added: “My family are settled, my kids are loving life and we love life in Glasgow. We really want to stay but it looks like I possibly could be leaving.” (The Sun)

Miku says joining Celtic was mistake, calls Lennon two-faced

Celtic striker Miku has said that moving to Celtic was a “huge mistake” and accused Neil Lennon of not being straight with him. “It has been a huge mistake coming to Scotland,” said the forward, who is on loan from La Liga side Getafe.

“At the beginning, I didn’t understand why I couldn’t play. I used to ask myself ‘how can you come from the best league in the world and not participate regularly in Scotland?’

“The truth is that I don’t speak with the coach any more. I like face to face contact. I’m not happy when someone tells you something then says something different behind your back.” (The Sun)

Carlos Bocanegra and Dorin Goian to return to Rangers

Dorin Goian and Carlos Bocanegra will return to Rangers in the summer as their loan deals abroad expire. Ally McCoist has signalled his intention to retain the two internationals after suggesting that Rangers need more experience, and will look to bring in up to nine players in the close season.

Craig Brown joins chorus of disapproval over SPL referees

Outgoing Aberdeen manager Craig Brown has joined growing condemnation of refereeing standards in the SPL. Brown bemoaned a decision by Euan Morris not to award a penalty to his side against Kilmarnock in February, a decision that he says may cost Aberdeen a top six spot that Kilmarnock are also vying for.

“That is the decision that will hurt the most if we don’t make the top six,” he said. “If the referee had done his job, we could have been three points ahead of Kilmarnock. It was criminal, the poorest refereeing decision of the season from an Aberdeen point of view. Neil Lennon had earlier criticised SPL officiating as “bizarre” after his side drew 1-1 with St Mirren at the weekend. (Daily Mail)

Kenny Miller urged to consider retiring from international duty

Kenny Miller has been told to retire from international football - in order to improve his MLS form. Vancouver Whitecaps manager Martin Rennie said: “It might be time for Scotland to start rebuilding.
