‘Die Leuchten’ finished fourth in the Swiss Super League last season, and have made eight appearances in European competition since the early Sixties.

In the 2012/13 Europa League, they were edged out by Belgian side KRC Genk 3-2 on aggregate during the Play-off round, and were knocked out in the Third Qualifying Round of the same competition in the 2010/11 season by FC Utrecht, who recorded a 4-1 aggregate win.
