After the last couple of months of upheaval and turmoil in Scottish football, it is great to finally be talking about the game on the pitch.

It is just a shame that we’ve only put a point and a solitary goal on the board. We should have killed off Motherwell while we had the chance but, despite our impressive attacking options this term, we failed to find a second goal.

Aberdeen are the first visitors to McDiarmid Park this term this Saturday and there is a campaign amongst Saints fans to try and improve the crowd and the atmosphere for the home opener. With our new pricing structure – free for under 12s and £5 for 13-16 year olds – it surely must be an attractive option for families so often priced out of the game. Let’s just hope our new striker Craig Beattie doesn’t follow the example set by Rowan Vine and Gregory Tade – by getting sent off on his debut.
