Swansea City 0 - 0 Liverpool: Rodgers grabs point on return to Swansea
The Reds had a first-half Jose Enrique strike ruled out for a marginal offside decision, while teenage prodigy Raheem Sterling rattled the bar and Jonjo Shelvey’s late effort was beaten out by Swans keeper Gerhard Tremmel.
Man-of-the-match Pablo Hernandez had Swansea’s best chances. The Spain winger curled a shot narrowly wide in the first half before having his low-free-kick tipped wide by Jose Reina.

Despite gaining only a point, which extended Liverpool’s unbeaten league run to eight games but kept them below Swansea in the table, Rodgers took heart from another promising performance as he looks to rebuild at Anfield, with Sterling, Enrique and Glen Johnson all excelling. Rodgers said: “We were unfortunate with the offside goal we had ruled out. That was a goal, I have seen it on the replay.
“But we are now eight games unbeaten, we are chipping away and our method was good today.”
Enrique and Glen Johnson wasted presentable chances for the Reds, while, as well as hitting the bar, Sterling conspired to bungle a two-against-one situation with Suarez as the pair bore down on Swansea left-back Ben Davies after a rapid break.
