Formula 1: Di Resta and Sutil resolve differences
On the opening lap of Sunday’s Chinese Grand Prix, the Force India duo collided coming out of the hairpin, forcing the Scot on to the grass and resulting in a loss of several places down the order. Sutil was later forced into retirement after Esteban Gutierrez ran into the back of the German, while Di Resta at least recovered to finish eighth, although it could have been higher had it not been for the early altercation.
Four days on, and addressing the matter ahead of this weekend’s race in Bahrain, Di Resta said: “Of course we’ve had a chat. What happened wasn’t ideal, there were discussions and opinions but it’s all sorted and we have taken the positives from it.

Sutil is adamant that he did not see Di Resta and, while appreciating they were fortunate to emerge unscathed, insists the matter is now all water under the bridge. “There was contact and we both had luck we were still in the race and he could continue,” said Sutil.
“We had a look at it after the race, we spoke about it and that’s it.”
