Hamren: We have a point to prove

Sweden coach Erik Hamren believes tonight's clash will benefit his side ahead of their Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Both nations will feel they have a point to prove and will be desperate for a positive result after the disappointment of missing out on the World Cup this summer.

Craig Levein might have lost six players while, in contrast, Hamren has a strong squad, boosted by the return of star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has come out of international retirement.

And, despite mixed reviews of his first campaign at Barcelona, the player himself believes his form has been impressive ahead of this match.

He said: "I think I had a fantastic year. I had a big transfer to Barcelona and there was a lot of expectation. I won four trophies last year and it's all about winning. We didn't succeed with the Champions League.

"I think I began very good, I scored a lot of goals and the team played very well. After Christmas, I had a down period, which is normal in the first year at a new club. You cannot be on the top the whole year.

"I came to Barcelona to play with fantastic players.

"This is the second year and it will be easier. To be back here with Sweden is great, we have a new generation coming up, a new coach and everything feels exciting." Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic refused to rule out a move to the Barclays Premier League one day, but insists he has no intention of quitting Barcelona any time soon. He joined the Catalan giants last summer from Inter Milan in what was the second most expensive transfer in football history.

He has since been linked with both Manchester City and Chelsea and, although flattered by the speculation, the striker claims he is happy at the Nou Camp.

"The whole summer, it has been a new club every day," he said. "I'm very happy there is an interest in me but I have four years more with Barcelona and I will not leave Barcelona because I am very happy there and I play with the best team in the world.

"I'm very happy to stay there but if clubs are interested in me, I take it as a compliment. It means I'm doing a good job.

"To play in England one day - absolutely. I feel I can give much more and I can still develop. You never know what happens in football, in 24 hours a lot of things can change."
