Heart scare for ex-Celtic player Sno

FORMER Celtic midfielder Evander Sno suffered a heart problem during a reserve clash between Ajax and VitesseArnhem but was reported to be conscious in hospital last night.

The match was called off as Sno was resuscitated on the pitch. A statement on the Ajax website said the former Celtic and Feyenoord and Netherlands Under-21 player was responding to doctors in hospital in Arnhem.

Reports from the Netherlands claimed that medical staff spent ten minutes reviving the 23-year-old Dutchman after he collapsed in the 63rd minute of the fixture. A defibrillator is understood to have been used before a conscious Sno was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Sno spent two seasons at Celtic after then manager Gordon Strachan signed him from Feyenoord in 2006. The Dutchman made 30 appearances for the Parkhead club, scoring one goal.

In 2008, he returned to Ajax, where he had come through the Amsterdam club's youth academy, but spent last season on loan at Bristol City in the English Championship.
