Henry wins second GB youth gold

Desiree Henry won Great Britain & Northern Ireland's second gold medal at the 2011 World Youth Championships in Lille as she broke her personal best in the women's 200 metres final.

Henry, the youngest member of the GB team at the age of 15, recorded a time of 23.25 to see off the challenge of Canada's Christian Brennan and Shericka Jackson of Jamaica.

The Enfield & Haringey athlete was full of praise for her coach, Mike McFarlane and said: "All of this is due to him. Since I joined him, I have progressed in a way I didn't think possible in such a short period of time. I do really want to thank him for all he did for me, I am so grateful."

Jessica Judd added to the celebrations as she fought through a competitive field to claim bronze in the women's 800m final with a very tight finish. She said: "I saw the American in front of me but somehow I just managed to squeeze through."

Henry and Judd's successes added to Louisa James' gold in the women's hammer on Saturday as well as Sophie McKinna's silver in the shot put and Lucy Bryan's pole vault bronze.
