Hockey: Inverleith hot

INVERLEITH, with Athens Olympian Graham Moodie in their line-up, won the RGU Sports Indoor Hockey Cup in Aberdeen after humbling holders Menzieshill 8-1 in the final.

Derek Salmond and John Harris both grabbed doubles while Andrew Malcolm, Richard Docherty, Christian Liedgens and Moodie also netted. Kerr Thomson scored a consolation for the Hill.

In the pool matches, Inverleith beat local side Granite City Wanderers 10-2 with three goals from Harris and Chris Grassick. Dundee Wanderers were then beaten 7-1 with German import Christian Liedgens scoring a hat-trick.
