Scottish runners earn '˜new' World Championship medals

McConnell will now receive a bronze medal for the 4x400m relay from both 2009 in Berlin and 2011 in Daegu after the British and NI team was upgraded to third place.

Hide AdMcConnell spoke to The Scotsman just last week about her frustration at missing out on medal recognition thanks to runners who were later found guilty of doping offences.
Doyle, meanwhile, has earned a silver medal from Moscow in 2013 as the women’s 4x400 relay team was bumped up into second.
Both McConnell and Doyle will get their rewards in a medal ceremony on the opening day of this year’s championships, 4 August.
