Shinty: Innes plunders triple hat-trick as Fort run riot

CAMANACHD Cup holders Fort William edged to the top of Shinty's Premier League yesterday, thanks to a triple hat-trick by Gary Innes.

The wing centre had a field day with nine goals against Glasgow Mid Argyll as Fort won 14-0. Historians were busy checking the record books but Innes might still play second fiddle to Shinty's record scorer, Ronald Ross.

Ross was again on form yesterday, scoring both goals in Kingussie's vital 2-1 win over Newtonmore in the league's first Badenoch Derby.

Fort overtook 'More at the summit of the division while Kingussie kept their title hopes alive.
