Celtic broke their own 100-year-old British unbeaten record in emphatic fashion as they dispatched of St Johnstone comfortably 4-0.

A home draw to Kilmarnock last week saw the Hoops equal their 62 match record unbeaten run but they smashed it in fine fashion in an afternoon stroll at McDiarmid Park.

Scott Sinclair opened the scoring in the first half with a strike from a corner routine which had been plucked straight from the training ground.

Brendan Rodgers’ men upped the ante in the second half with Moussa Dembele producing a scintillating 45 minutes, netting the second after wonderful build-up, before setting up goals three and four, converted by St Johnstone’s Steven Anderson and Olivier Ntcham respectively.
