Game review: Lollipop Chainsaw

If a 13-year-old boy created a video game they’d probably come up with something like Lollipop Chainsaw, which follows the zombie hunting antics of improbably proportioned, scantily attired cheerleader Juliet Starling and her massive buzzsaw.

Lollipop Chainsaw

Warner Bros, PS3/XBox 360, £29.99

Accompanied by her boyfriend Nick, now a decapitated head, we blitz our way through small town America. Written by James Gunn (writer/director of gooey horror movie Slither) it’s an infuriatingly sassy mix of gore, innuendo and glitter. Manga, Zombie Flesh Eaters and My Little Pony combine as Juliet eviscerates the undead and blood, sparkles and rainbows spill from their severed limbs. Like gorging on sweets, it’s hard to stop yourself going back for more.
