In full: City centre roads closed during Edinburgh Festival

As always, a number of a key roads in the city centre will be shut to traffic during August. Some routes will be partially closed and at specific times, with bus diversions in place.
Below is a list of the roads affected and how long they will be closed for.
Lothian Road A700

Hide AdLothian Road will be closed on Friday, 3 August from 8pm - 11.59pm, between West Approach Road and Morrison Street/Bread Street for the Edinburgh International Festival Opening Event. Lothian Buses will have diversions in place.
Cockburn Street
Road closed between 10.30am and 5.30pm each day from 3 August to 27 August.
George IV Bridge
Due to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the road will be closed from 10.30pm-11pm each week night, 9pm - 9.30pm and 12am - 12.30am each Saturday night/Sunday morning, from 2 to 26 August.
Chambers Street
Similarly, Chambers Street will be closed to all traffic (except for event coaches) from 5pm-11pm each week night and 5pm - 1am each Saturday night from 2 to 26 August.
King’s Stables Road
This road will be closed due to the Tattoo from 2 August to 26 August from 5pm - 11pm each week night.
There are also nightly road closures on Castlehill, Mound Place, Ramsay Lane, Ramsay Garden, Johnston Terrace, Lawnmarket, St Giles’ Street, King’s Stables Road, Chambers Street and George IV Bridge until 26 August. These closures will be in place from 4.30pm - 12.30am.
