Local Buzz: Blueflint
TWINKLE-FOOTED Americana folk types Blueflint are as authentic a proposition as you’re likely to encounter.
A delightful blend of bluegrass, country and Americana that is heavy on emotion and more so on musicianship, the Edinburgh quartet look ready to consolidate their early promise with second album Maudy Tree, which sees a release in mid-October.

Throughout the record, there’s a lightness about Deborah Arnott’s and Claire Nelson’s interlocking melodies. That they don’t make their voices the centre of attention means that the whole band is afforded the opportunity to shine.
