YOU get all sorts on Arthur’s Seat. The Edinburgh peak is clambered on by hikers, tourists, dogwalkers and schoolchildren.

But, until now, it’s not been known for attracting skiiers – especially not in the middle of July.

Kevin Blanc, 26, took his skiis to the green slopes of Arthur’s Seat earlier this month to showcase it as a cost-effective (if somewhat quirky) alternative to more exotic seasonal destinations.

In the tongue-in-cheek clip, Blanc is seen practicing ski freeriding – a sport where competitors search for new places to ski, removed from the constraints of formal competition.

Safety checks made to spot and remove rocks from the surface were made before the Edinburgh-based skiier crossed the grassy terrain.
